About Northeastern Ontario Tourism Partnership Program

The Northeastern Ontario Tourism Partnership Program was launched to better meet visitor vacation planning needs by connecting them to the tourism products they want to experience while visiting Northeastern Ontario.

Northeastern Ontario Tourism provides a Listing to all tourism businesses. An enhanced Partnership listing has a benefit including a printed listings in our Guide, with Partners also receiving an online profile and package listings with hotlinks to their website and email.

Payment & Partnership Renewal

The Partnership Year runs April 1 to March 31. If partnership renewal is not received within 45 days from April 1, your enhanced profile and packages will be removed from website as of May 15 (or the closest business day after). 

Travel Guide & Touring Map Advertisements

Artwork for Travel Guide and Touring Map Advertisements must be received CAMERA READY, no later than October 18, 2019. Distribution of the 2020 Travel Guide begins January 2020.

Design Services

Advertisement design and translation is available as a service to our advertisers for $100.00 CAD for any graphic services, including one set of revisions. An additional design fee of $25.00 CAD per revision will be applied after the first set of revisions.

Advertisers are responsible for providing logos, photos, and written content. All files must be submitted electronically in PDF, JPG, or EPS formats.

Business Eligibility

The following businesses are eligible to enroll in the Northeastern Ontario Tourism Online Listings Program:

  • Tourism businesses in the business of activities, attractions, transportation, accommodation, camping, or dining
  • Non-government organizations featuring tourism products
  • Municipalities and Destination Marketing Organizations wishing to sell their destination.
  • First Nations featuring tourism products (e.g. – advertising of cultural centres).

In order to be eligible, businesses and organizations must:

  • Hold and maintain all applicable insurance, licenses, permits, approvals and statutory authorities issued by any government or government agencies that are necessary to run the business.
  • Be based in Northeastern Ontario (RTO13a), RTO13b, RTO12, RTO11 or RTO10.
  • Have a website or web presence that provides a physical address, and information on cancellation and payment policies (if applicable).

Categories are subject to change. There is no limit to the number of categories a business can select. However, Northeastern Ontario Tourism reserves the right to add or delete categories to ensure accuracy.

Eligible businesses must email [email protected] with the following information:

  • Business name
  • The type of listing categories

Once approved by Northeastern Ontario Tourism, businesses will receive an email with login and username information to complete their listing.

Online Listing Requirements

Businesses and organizations enrolled in the Northeastern Ontario Tourism Online Listings Program may submit listings to be displayed online.

It is the responsibility of the business or organization to ensure that the information contained in their listing is accurate and up-to-date.

The following mandatory Online Listing information must be provided:

  • A valid link to a business website or web presence which provides additional details about the business, its services, and booking information.
  • Contact information including a valid email address and phone number.
  • A written description of the services provided by the business.
  • Up to 8 horizontal images no larger than 4 MB and dimensions of 2000 x 1333 pixels.
  • An address or GPS coordinates for the area of operation.
  • Accommodation listings must include rates, number of rooms and available amenities.
  • We highly recommend linking to Trip Advisor reviews.

Online Vacation Package Requirements

Businesses and organizations enrolled in the Northeastern Ontario Tourism Partnership Program may submit up to six Vacation Packages to be displayed on the website at one time.

Vacation Packages will remain active until their “effective to” date passes. The operator will receive an email advising them to revise their package or it will expire.

In order to be displayed on NortheasternOntario.com, Vacation Packages must:

  • Be a tourism product or experience.
  • May be a single experience or service (e.g. Canoeing the Yukon River) or a combined/packaged experience (e.g. accommodation, ground travel, meals and dogsledding).
  • Occur entirely or predominantly within the Yukon.
  • Be available for booking – if a Vacation Package is sold out or cancelled, the business owner is responsible for unpublishing the Vacation Package.
  • Have a published Online Listing to accompany the Vacation Package.

The following mandatory Vacation Package information must be provided:

  • A descriptive title.
  • A specific price (or price range).
  • Link to a page on a website that provides additional details about the Vacation Package, including booking information – it should not link to the home page or other general pages.
  • Valid offer dates.
  • The experience must take place within the Northeastern Region.
  • A horizontal heading image no larger than 4 MB and dimensions of 2000 x 1333 pixels.

Content Review Process 

  • All submitted Online Listings and Vacation Packages will be reviewed and approved by Northeastern Ontario Tourism before being displayed. They can be submitted at any time throughout the year.
  • Northeastern Ontario Tourism will review submitted content within 5 business days. Northeastern Ontario Tourism staff are not available to review submitted content on weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Content may be rejected if it does not contain mandatory information or images, or if it contains misleading information, inappropriate copy or images.
  • Businesses and organizations will be notified by email if there are any issues with the content they have submitted.

Cause for Removal

Online Listings and Vacation Packages may be rejected or removed if:

  • The content does not contain mandatory copy, images or information.
  • The content contains outdated, misleading information, inappropriate copy or images.
  • The Business or Organization is no longer in operation.
  • The Business or Organization no longer has a website or web presence.
  • The Business or Organization has not maintained all applicable insurance, licenses, permits, approvals and statutory authorities issued by any government or government agency that are necessary to run the business.

Complaint Process

If you disagree with a decision made by Northeastern Ontario Tourism to reject your Online Listing or Vacation Package please contact Northeastern Ontario Tourism at partnership {@ } northeasternontario {.} com.

Terms of Use

  • Use is solely for the purpose of uploading and displaying Northeastern Ontario Tourism partnership Online Listings and Vacation Packages.
  • Northeastern Ontario Tourism has the right at any time, without notice, and in its sole discretion, to deny, suspend or cancel your access if you breach or are suspected of breaching any of these Terms of Use or for any other reason Northeastern Ontario Tourism deems appropriate.
  • Northeastern Ontario Tourism cannot guarantee the quality, accuracy, completeness or timeliness of Online Listings and Vacation Packages provided and assumes no obligation to verify the content or information.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Northeastern Ontario Tourism, its affiliates and related companies, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, consultants and agents from and against all claims, liability, and expenses, including all legal fees and costs, arising out of: (i) your breach of these Terms of Use; or (ii) your participation in the Northeastern Ontario Tourism Online Listing Program.
  • Access is provided on an “as is” basis. You should not assume that your use of the Northeastern Ontario Tourism Online Listing Program will be error free or that the online service will operate without interruption or error.
  • You agree to promptly notify Northeastern Ontario Tourism immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account and to take such reasonable steps as are necessary to prevent any reoccurrence of such event.
  • Although Northeastern Ontario Tourism takes all reasonable measures to maintain the security of the Online Listings and Vacation Packages, Northeastern Ontario Tourism will not be responsible for any damages you may suffer as a result of transmitting confidential information through the Internet, or implicitly or explicitly authorizing Northeastern Ontario Tourism or others to send confidential information to you in this manner.
  • Northeastern Ontario Tourism reserves the right to change these Terms of Use at any time. Your use of the program is governed by the Terms of Use in effect at the time of such use. You should therefore check these Terms of Use periodically.
  • The laws of the Ontario and Canada shall govern as to the interpretation, validity and effect of these Terms of Use despite any conflict of law provisions of your domicile, residence or physical location. You hereby consent and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and Ontario in action or proceeding instituted under or related to these Terms of Use or your use of the website or of the content, information and services provided.
