The Alex Dufresne Gallery is pleased to present

Diversity, a retrospective exhibit by Helen Whitehead.

In her own words, “Diversity” is a show that displays the best examples of her work in a very “outside the box” type of creativity. Using an impressionist style that stretches the limits, her work holds many layers of symbolism while demonstrating to her audience the diversity of sports, activities, volunteerism and more that North Bay has to offer.

For 40 years Helen has created artwork using materials such as watercolours, acrylic, mixed media, pastel, and graphite and has had a remarkable artistic career. She has won over 20 awards with the Northern Ontario Art Association (NOAA), has created commissions for Nipissing University, Denison Mines Ltd., North Bay Regional Hospital, Investors Group, Children’s Aid Society, the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption and more, and her work is found in the collections of the Ontario Northland Railway, Jim Redpath, Northeastern Regional Cancer Centre, Temiskaming Art Gallery and more.

Opening remarks will begin at 2:15 and there will be light refreshments. The show will remain on display until October 27 and the fall/winter hours of the gallery are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00pm.

Special thanks to the show sponsors: Hillside Funeral Services Ltd., Steven Wright (Investors Group Wealth Management), Dynamic Dentistry, and Symetrics.
