The Capitol Centre presents a performance modelled on the wildly popular Proms concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall. NBSO presents an evening of musical exuberance, audience participation, and general patriotic merriment. In true Canadian style, this performance includes “God Save the Queen” and Elgar’s famous “Pomp and Circumstance” sharing the stage with “O Canada” and other Canadian works along with boisterous pieces by Dvorak, and even a Sousa march! Violinist Julia Glenn will dazzle audiences with Vaughan Williams’s picturesque “Lark Ascending” and the technically demanding “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso” by Saint-Saëns.
