Welcome to Old Mission Resort, a hidden gem nestled in the loveliest bay overlooking the majestic beauty of Lake Temiskaming. A haven sheltered by high rock cliffs, old growth pine, endless trails & breathtaking landscape on pristine Northern Ontario shores.

Lake Temiskaming is the headwaters of the Ottawa River system & served as the gateway to the North. The first steamship, S.S. “Mattawan”, arrived on the shoreline at the Old Mission in 1887 & our theme is based on this nostalgic past.

Our cozy housekeeping cottages are ideally located off-the-grid each with a spectacular view of the rugged shoreline & a door step away from the great outdoors. This is Northeastern Ontario and the adventure is yours to discover.

Fishing is our signature attraction with walleye, northern pike & small mouth bass being plentiful in such hot spots as Pike Bay, Gull Rock, Blue-Berry Point, the Pinnacle & the Mission Narrows. Come experience fishing at its finest. We are proud to work in partnership with the Experience Fishing program to promote fishing in our region!

For the outdoor enthusiast we offer off the grid experiences with family & friends, hiking, ATVing, prospectors camp adventures, canoeing, swimming & night sky star-gazing, just to name a few. If history is your passion, experience the local Heritage Silver Trail or venture across the narrows to the Hudson’s Bay Trading Post.
