September Travel Newsletter
Thank you for choosing our region
As we’re heading into fall, we here at Northeastern Ontario Tourism want to take a moment to thank you all for choosing our region for your summer travel. We hope that you’ve made some memories that will keep you coming back for years to come. Our members and communities across the region have worked hard to make sure travel here is safe and enjoyable.
But the year is far from over, and some people say that fall is the best season to visit our region. Here’s a story that covers everything there is to do in our largest communities – you can read all about it here.
The Best Fall Road Trips
If you’re as big a fan of road trips as we are, you’re probably thinking about taking a weekend ride to see all the spectacular colour changes across the North – with our unique scenery that combines the boreal forest with tens of thousands of lakes, rivers and streams criss-crossing our highways, you’re sure to have a trip to remember. Check out our roundup of fall road trips here.
Kevin Forget is Destination Ontario’s authority on fall colour timing – so be sure to follow his reports here.
NEW! Facebook Photo Shout Outs
We’ve recently started a Facebook shout out for photos of our vast region; photos we can share on our social media pages and in our publications with visitors, potential visitors and residents alike – make sure to follow us here, and for regular inspiration, check out our Instagram page too.
Start Planning for Next Summer
And although the SUP season has passed, we published this great story on our picks for the best spots for stand up paddle boarding in the Northeast – check it out and bookmark it for next year.
As always, you can order a printed guide from us here anytime!
We’re looking forward to seeing you back here for fall.
Stay tuned for more information on winter – we’re expecting a lot of snow and can’t wait to see you taking in all the activities Northeastern Ontario has to offer: ice fishing, skiing, snowmobiling and more!
