It doesn’t matter how you choose to explore Northeastern Ontario – our region has many scenic highway drives, off-road trail systems, and the most extensive snowmobile trail network in Ontario.
Whatever your chosen mode of transportation, we have two tools to help point you in the right direction; a Travel Guide and Motorcycle Touring Map. You can pick these up at most Travel Information Centres in Northeastern Ontario, or email us to request mailed copies.

The clubs and groomers throughout the region are dedicated to creating the World’s Best Snowmobiling experience for locals and visitors alike.
And our communities and businesses love sledders. We have great places to eat, sleep and rest up before heading back out on the trails. We even known for our backcountry riding. We take motorcycle touring seriously – so seriously that we’ve put together the best roads that our region has to offer into five killer routes that cover all of the North.
From polar bears in Cochrane, to lumberjacks in Mattawa. From the hawberries of Manitoulin to the windswept rocks of Killarney. And while the sights of rock and trees and rivers and lakes will meet you at every turn, it’s the quality of the pavement that will surprise you – this is truly a ride like no other.

From a leisurely family outing through the boreal forest to an exhilarating ride through a mud-filled bog, Northeastern Ontario has some great ATV trails. Long or short, scenic or challenging, Northeastern Ontario ATV trails deliver big time.
One of North America’s premier trail systems is the Voyageur Multi-Use Trail System—better known as VMUTS—with over 300 kilometres of trails plus plenty of places to stay and eat.
