We begin in Greenwater Provincial Park, just west of Cochrane. We load up and head out at the park gates and travel by dogteam through the boreal forest, passing windswept glacial lakes, to the base of Calhoon Mountain where we prepare camp for the night.

Camp prep includes dog care, wood gathering, and basic winter accommodation setup (which is large dome tent with propane heater). Guests are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of this process. Your personal guides are experienced outdoor survivalists and love to teach others their skills. Your guides also will prepare a meal of your choice off our menu.

Once camp is ready and bellies are full, snowshoe to the top of Calhoon Mountain to hopefully catch a glimpse of the amazing Aurora Borealis and hear the howl of the timber wolves. Hike back down to camp and the rest of the evening is yours to enjoy around the campfire or bonding with your favourite dog. Morning brings a warm fire, dog chores, a hot breakfast prepared by your guide and time to pack up camp. Then hit the trails with your team, which will get us back to the staging area by noon.

Guests are expected to provide their own winter outerwear sufficient for northern winters. Layering is recommended. All winter sleeping gear is provided by Ravens Adventures.

This is a customized couples package, just the two of your and your guides. Our overnight dogsledding tours begin at 1 pm and end at approximately 12 noon the following day. Cost is $1,500/couple, which includes taxes.
