The 5th annual Temagami Canoe Festival will be held on July 19 to 21, 2019 at Temagami’s downtown waterfront, located on the shores of beautiful Lake Temagami. Temagami Canoe Festival is an indoor-outdoor, multistage, family-friendly celebration hosts activities that includes canoe displays, demos and workshops, the opportunity to paddle a Rabaska canoe, historical talks, birch bark canoes, guided old growth forest hikes, live music, food and craft vendors, and much more.
This festival is a regional tourism event providing a summer celebration that highlights the area’s rich canoeing history, wilderness of Temagami and Indigenous culture of the Teme-Augama Anishnabai. Temagami, a world class canoeing destination steeped in history and geologic significance, sits on a 16,000 square kilometre lake leading to over 4,700 km of canoe routes. Our region has been a renowned centre for outdoor & wilderness recreation for over 100 years.
